Life of an Artist

Artist Sick Days

Let me just come right out and say two things. 1) I’m sick, some sort of cold, or flu, or possibly plague 2) I’m really REALLY annoyed about it.

No snazzy photos for this blog, just a phone snap of my picket tissues. (This is an old packet and we normally use cloth hankies now so don't hate me for being environmentally un-friendly)

Why? Because I’ve things to do, stuff to work on, deadlines to meet. Not to mention there are no paid sick days for indie artists. Besides I’ve images I desperately want to work on but can’t, because I’m sick, so add frustration into the mix. I’ve learnt through bitter experience that working on images whilst your brain is full of cotton wool is a really bad idea.
Intellectually I know the sensible thing is to take a couple of days and give my body the best possible conditions to fight whatever horrid little bug has invaded, allowing me to recover as soon as possible. That’s what I’m doing (apart from writing this of course) but don’t expect me to be happy about it. I shall be a grumpy moo whenever I crawl out of bed. Now, would someone please be kind enough to pass me some tissues and pop the kettle on for more hot drinks?
